At Colosimo Coffee Roasters, every bean has a backstory. This week, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our most beloved coffees—Drummer Boy—a Brazilian Yellow Bourbon that’s become a crowd favorite for a reason.
So… what makes this coffee so special? Let’s take a little trip to Brazil.
FROM FARM TO CUP – MEET THE BARBOSA FAMILY
Drummer Boy is grown on a beautiful farm in the Cerrado Mineiro region of Brazil by the Barbosa family, a multigenerational group of coffee growers who have turned farming into an art. Their farm is known for its commitment to quality, traceability, and sustainability—and those values align perfectly with everything we believe in at Colosimo Coffee.
The Yellow Bourbon varietal they grow is natural process, sun-dried on patios and carefully sorted for consistency. The result? A cup with notes of milk chocolate and hazelnut, a silky body, and a clean, sweet finish. It’s comforting. It’s smooth. It’s balanced. And it’s roasted in-house by our team who obsess over every small batch.
We’ve stuck with this farm year after year not just because the coffee is fantastic—but because the relationship matters. We don’t just buy beans. We partner with farmers who share our commitment to craft, care, and community.
WHY WE CALL IT DRUMMER BOY
The name “Drummer Boy” is a playful nod to rhythm, energy, and tradition—all things we see in both the music of life and the daily ritual of your morning cup. It’s also got a bit of that cozy, nostalgic feel that we think matches the coffee perfectly.
